55 new poems. BACK COVER: Nice did not exist in 2020. We would like to think it was there, just dormant. But if sleep is the designated driver, we would never take comfort in going home. Poetry has that sense, to feel its way blindly, even at a fast speed—with long frantic arms extending from the bumper. The year that hid was a tentacle monster. If Nice is awake now, it is in this collection. It starts out with a marriage-proposal poem entitled, “Wet Poem,” and ends with a marriage-ending one, “The Stay in Move” (first published in THAT Literary Review, 2019). And all the quirks in between. Single-spaced poems are of a variety of subjects. Double-spaced poems are of nice.
